Login to Website does not work with Primary email

Despite having successfully set a password for my account, I am unable to login using my primary login. I can only login using Steam. I guess that also means I won't be able to directly use the Path of Exile client and must only use Steam?


I sent an email to support@grindinggear.com explaining the problem, however, they tell me I do not exist. It took them several weeks to give me that response too.

In an attempt to speed up resolution, I tried to change the Primary email to force a sync/fix any corrupted data, but that does not work (it has been a month of trying to get this work with no progress made).

The website says to check email for verification but it never comes... It seems this is historical issue:

Email verification was never sent. I have been in contact with support for about a month. Those emails are not marked as spam and are received without issue...

The website never sends the verification.

P.S. Website also does not allow "switch character".

One thing has been quite clear: save your money. Your account gets corrupted, hacked, or whatever, you will be fortunate to get assistance.

I am still trying to get the primary login to work. Despite my purchase reciept, my billing address, and original emails from poe when I made the account, they won't take any action. They have asked I create a throw away account.

One question is how am I able login to Steam (which uses 2FA), yet unable to fix whatever this corruption is? How did it even happen? I never had such problems with any other account.

Problem:

Only able to login via Steam. Unable to login via Primary email. It appears to be some sort of account corruption / technical issue with logins.

Steps taken:

Contacted support. Provided original registration emails, including the linking to Steam. Provided copy of purchase receipt, my address, my IP address, etc. No action has been taken yet to fix the account. There has been no explanation of what is going on. Proof of ownership has been given -- if anything, put the original email address on the account although that may not work given what is happening now.

My problem is the other way around. I purchased the POE2 Pack on steam, but the coins were given to my old account. I can't log into poe2 with my old account. It automatically takes the steam account. Why do I have 2 accounts anyway.

That is very strange and unfortunate. Something weird is going on with accounts.

Current Status: unresolved. No response since I provided additional information.

It would be nice to be able to not have to use Steam to play.
