Advice on STR stacking Gemling with Caged God? First time making a build!

Finally trying to make my own proper build instead of following guides like I have in poe1. I recently got the Pillar of the Caged God staff and though that a Gemling strength stacker could be fun, going Adaptive Capability and Enhanced Effectiveness.

This way I should be able to focus on Strength and still get all the gem attribute requirements. Then just stack added attack mods on all gear and stack strength on gear, splashing some dex for attack speed.

Here is the idea for the skill tree I have atm, but since this is my first time doing this, I would like to get some feedback on it. Thanks!

hang on, flat dmg, phys and elemental on rings and gloves will stack with the pilar of the caged god scaling?
I am also planning to build around Pillar of the caged god, by stacking all three attributes, using two additional uniques when I can afford them.
Hand of Wisdom and Action is now a GLOVES item in POE2 (look it up in poe2db.tw), so it adds its own flat lightning damage (from int) and attack speed (from dex) to any kind of weapon or attack skill. Pillar has great % increases and attack speed available, so HOWA would solve the base damage completely, so long as I am willing to build around lightning.
Right now it's way too expensive for me, so yes I will need to find other sources of lightning from rings and rare gloves and the charged staff skill until I can afford HOWA.
The other unique, which is even more expensive, would be an Astramentis amulet to let me benefit from the large increase to all three attributes.
There are a bunch of useful passive nodes around the mercenary starting area if you're stacking all attributes - there's one that increases your ailment threshold from dex, another that gives accuracy from str, and another to the left that gives stun threshold from str.
And to the right of the big attributes cluster, there is also a lightning cluster which makes your damage rolls "lucky" (roll twice and use higher result) for non-critical lightning hits. This is actually a huge improvement because lightning damage (such as from HOWA) usually has a very large difference between maximum and minimum damage, so I plan to take this node and not invest in critical strikes at all, just more attributes and attribute scaling.
These are the things I've planned for now, I can't tell how well it will work until I actually have the gloves at least. But cheers if any of this helps.

i don't think this works, the idea is cool but its just not gonna work if you try to stack all three, its either pure str for the staff or mostly int for the gloves i think

the stats are suffixes, if you try to stack all 3 stats or even 2 stats, you woudn't have any resistances on your gear at all

the damage from int seems to be very strong but the defensives seems kind of really bad now, int in poe 2 dosnt give es anymore, it only gives flat mana lol

Things you can look at for attribute stacking :

- some quaterstaff abilities ( the cold ones ) have already base damage and it's supposed to scale with unarmed so HOWA would work even better, if base damage is solved, dex for attack speed would be great

- Black Sun Crest is an helmet that can give up to +15% all attributes and is cheap

- Astramantis is so strong it might effectively the build enabler

- Titanrot Cataphract is cheap torso that gives + 20% STR with the detriment of the other 2

- Morior Invictus is an expensive torse with 4 sockets that can have the "+5% attribute per socket" so effectively 20% all

I'm planning a INT stacking gemling that take attributes nodes up to the 2% Lightning per 10 int and Mind of Over matter ( cause we stack mana )

Build is supposed to get Hand of Wisdom and Action, Black Sun Crest, Astramentis and Morior Invictus to work with Pillar of the Caged God

using the cold or phys unarmed quaterstaff skills

in theory it's supposed to give massive INT amount ( 750+ ) and descent amount of other ( 150-200 )

that makes :

- 400+ base attack with gloves + flat form skills
- 300% AoE with staff
- 3000 mana with MoM ( half from gemling )
- 150% lightning + 70% damage from lowest attribute node
- decent attack speed from staff and claw

That would make a very strong character but very, i'm farming that required enablers ( gloves + astramantis ) a with another build until i can affort and respec
I actually just made a guide on my selfmade build. You can use it for inspiration and I've added a future Gemling Legionnaire build.

I suggest you grab Brute Strength and Falcon Dive since they scale really well with Unexpected Finesse which will give your build all the damage it needs.

Without considering how you're going to do it, it's definitely better damage wise to stack both str and int with the gloves. Probably depends on your other flat damage sources and passive nodes which you want more of. And I think you definitely will want some dex as well for the attack speed. The higher you go with any one stat the less returns it will give you.
