Damage of armor explosion support
What is the damage of the Armor Explosion support based on?
Is based on the damage of the hit that breaks the armor? Can it be increased in other ways than increasing the hit damage? If so can you "double dip" with, say, concentrated effect? Thanks! Last bumped on Dec 16, 2024, 12:36:12 AM

The triggered explosion is another attack, it deals 100% of attack damage. It works like Shockwave support in PoE1. Linked supports should also affect the explosion.

I don't think supports will affect the explosion damage, only your equpiment and skill tree modifiers to attack damage. Supports don't seem to affect other supports, only active skills.

I've been kinda wondering this too, but moreso if it uses the damage of your weapon if you're using a shield attack to trigger it like resonating shield.

" I was testing this and it seems that it only counts your main hand weapon when triggering it with shields. I tried the ringing shield skill with a crappy mace and the explosions did almost nothing. I wouldn't recommend it. |

"What your observation is based on? I haven't tested, but assuming nothing has changed since PoE1 in that regard (which I think is true), it works the way I said. "It can't double dip because the explosion is a separate skill, and its damage doesn't relate to the damage of the skill that triggered it. Attack damage, when listed like that on attack skills, refers to the base attack damage, which consist of your weapon damage (the range showed on a weapon e.g. 50-95 physical damage) + global added damage to attacks (e.g. Adds 5 to 8 Physical Damage to Attacks). Conversion stuff is omitted here for simplicity. Say, you use Boneshatter (lvl 10) + Concentrated Effect + Devastate + Armour Explosion. And your attack damage is 100 phys damage. Considering the target is primed for stun, the following calcs happen: – Boneshatter strike (swing) deals 100 x 1.91 x 1.4 = 267 phys dmg – Boneshatter shockwave deals 100 x 4.79 x 1.4 = 670 phys dmg – Fiery explosion deals 100 x 1 x 1.4 = 140 fire dmg 1.4 multiplier is from conc effect (40% more area damage) Last edited by MonaHuna#6449 on Dec 14, 2024, 2:06:28 AM

Are you able to use the armor explosion with say shockwave totem? Maybe pairing it with the Avil's Weight ascendency, as well as trying to get the Gravebind Rope Cuffs (Enemies killed by anyone in your Presence count as being killed by you instead) to allow Herald of Ash as well as Infernal Cry to try to proliferate the explosions. Could that be a thing?
