Everyone likes the trials of ascendancy.
The trials are a grand way to actually earn your ascension - they are not given, you have to work hard towards that, so that's what give it value. I have asked few friends how they feel about them and the answer is universally uniform.

Well, it's more fair on some classes than on others. As a titan, who's built around tanking hits, the honor mechanic is borderline impossible with 3-4 floors. The honor drain doesn't scale with mitigation. I've seen 1k honor go poof in less than a second from breath attacks and dots.

i played one a lot and the 2 mechanics they brought forward for replacement are some of the least interacted with things in one. Lab was a challenge but didn't require you to build wholly around it to get your points these did and by the looks still do then you add over tuned bosses and shit drops and weights on what does drop you get a shitty feeling mechanic locking the natural progression for character power. It's much the same in maps i don't play hard core in 1 don't force us to run a sudo-hardcore in maps. I am okay with dyeing i am okay with losing Exp and having limited portals for end game bosses but to work to a node to die to trash scaling in the map encounters and lose the chance at killing a normal map boss not even a special boss some reused asset from the story makes mapping feel less rewarding than just the first dry as hell play through of the story in my blue gear. They need to change something or the one we are missing just needs to be normal lab from one we all enjoyed it and yes it got scaled out after awhile but its meant to not all things should be a end game farm.

Locking ascendancy behind 2 of the most polarizing mechanics in poe1 is garbage.
Certainly not unexpected I suppose as GGG have a long history of doubling down on anything a large portion of the playerbase despises. Lot of that going on right now including nerfing a mechanic and skill into complete unplayability rather than just mitigating its damage or synergy. Also a common GGG move. Extremely disappointing. |

I honestly like it, even on melee the sekhema trial is pretty fun. There seem to be some issues with certain dots taking WAAAAAY too much honor off you, but there is a different even more glaring issue.
The relics. Currently I assume that GGG tested the trials with a certain amount of relics equipped. The difference in ascension attemps when you have 75% honor resistance, and 0 is insane. I even tanked some hits where the honor dmg got rounded down to 0 from the minor enemies. Which means it makes even melee runs more than doable in sekhema... Now is that ok? Hell no. The issue this leads too, is that you are expected to both many trials farming up your relics before you have a somewhat safe run. Especially as a newbie. Imo, not a good way to go about ascending. I hope they make it friendlier, even if they have to split away the rewards and make ascension a seperate trial, where you can not earn rewards, but can not hard fail as easily. |

I have asked my friends, those who don't like the trials, are all Diablo players. This explains a lot.

Quit trolling. No one likes them.

" I'm afraid that the Trials aren't exactly... fair to all classes. That's part of the issue. Please see Youtuber "Upper Echelon"'s video regarding the state of POE2. It's his latest video, released today. |
