I'm just curious...
To satiate my own curiosity can you reply below
If you've played PoE 1 - and if so how many leagues or hours. and then if you like the direction of PoE 2. Much appreciated! Last bumped on Dec 13, 2024, 1:16:19 AM

I´ve played PoE 1 since beta so more than 10 years more or less.
I´m the typical SSFHC kind of player, i enjoy making new builds if i rip a character and just go-again mentality. My issue with PoE 2 atm is this: Replayability is VERY VERY BAD. Act 1 will take on average maybe 1.5-2 hours on SSFHC/HC since you have to overlevel and farm gear due to rare/blue drops being very rare, you´ll be gatekeeped by bad equipment for this reason, the same thing will happen in later acts, what this does is increase act-times severely which is a result of replayability going down. The typical nolifer SSFHC streamer (Ziz, Raiz, Steelmage) will likely reroll 10+ characters per season due to being able to go from a1 to maps within 5-6 hours 5-6 hours in PoE 1 will likely result in double the time in PoE 2 and that is for a nolifer A casual will give it one try and then skip/wait for next season due to the time investment required to simple get to the actual "game" which is the endgame, this is a very bad approach. I want the game to be slower as PoE 1 reached the stage of having to resort to ONE SHOTS to balance the game...This game is a lot slower and yet they still resorted to one shots, that decision did not make much sense to me. A slower tactile gameplay should resort to better balance paths than to simply do the typical "+ -" damage increases to "balance" |

~400 hours of PoE 1, probably like 6 leagues spread over like 5 or 6 years, so not a hardcore or anything but so far I feel like PoE 2 has a decent starting point, but it definitely needs work (hence, I think, Early Access). I'm somewhere in Act 2 rn, so I have nothing to say about endgame, but right now the critical things they need to work on are some buffs to match the recent nerfs and maybe a big loot table overhaul.

" I've played since open access, and nearly every league, save for a few in the middle (roughly the time the new masters showed up) as I was too busy to do much of anything. In terms of hours I'd be terified to know. Thousands? And yes, so far I enjoy PoE2 a lot. It's fairly different from PoE1, but I generally like the direction of the gameplay, and the shifts in core mechanics like gems. |

Well, I only just attached my POE account to steam, due to the early access beta.
I'm sure I've got thousands of hours (10k+) at this point and have played most seasons, played beta and remember when POE was literally a reskinned D2. (3 acts, multiple difficulties) My opinion of POE2? I love it personally and find it to be more enjoyable than even POE1. It plays well, the voice acting is great and I can see myself plummeting thousands of hours into it, it's got balancing issues and some bugs, but that's normal for an early access beta release. BRIGHT FUTURE. I got the sauce. Last edited by Holigawd#2935 on Dec 13, 2024, 1:19:40 AM

" Bright future, indeed. Come release, or even sooner than that I'm betting this week will just be remembered as growing pains. |
