High CPU Latency despite low CPU usage
My game will be running smoothly but every now and again my cpu bar on the performance graph will spike up to 10+ ms and cause the game to stutter. The stuttering isn't reflected on my fps counter but it is really, really annoying. It would make since if it was caused my cpu under-performing, but according to both task manager and AMD ryzen master my cpu usage hovers around 40%. My shader bar on the graph also tends to spike up like crazy occasionally. I have only had this problem with PoE2, I have not tried playing PoE1 on this computer yet.
My Specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 8-Core Processor @4.80 GHz Nvidia RTX 4060 8GB 32GB RAM The game is installed on an SSD I'm also using an ethernet connection, I have to connect to the California servers and average around 50 ping. I have tried changing around my in-game settings many, many times and pretty much nothing has made an noticeable improvement. Even lowering all of my settings as low as they go did not help. I have also tried other solutions that I've seen in other threads like setting my PC's power plan to maximum performance, changing my power management mode in Nvidia control panel to maximum performance. I would really love to play more of this amazing game but the stuttering is really starting to get to me after putting up with it for my 48 hours of game time. Hello,
I have the same issue with my cpu ryzen 7 7800x3d. CPU latency sits at 2ms in town then spikes between 20/10ms every 5-10 sec. Fun fact: also happens in the Main menu and also happens in PoE1. I've tried turning of the c-states, tried changing the chat channel and also tried turning down my cpu power to 80%. Those were the only suggestions I found regarding the same issue. (it worked for some ppl with old hardware) C-states helped being a bit less noticeable but as at the cost of 100% cpu load. kinda dangerous imo for long hours. Triple-buffering helps a little bit but still noticeable. Engine multithreading doesn't help aswell. nvidia 4090 ryzen 7 7800x3d 32 Gb DDR5 6000MHz Note: if a dev needs a video showcasing all options please DM me |

I still have not found a solution. I found that in my case it's very likely caused by just a bad connection with the server. I'm confused because my internet is pretty good, I average 300 Mps download, so it's probably something up with GGG's servers.
Also today while mapping my game hard crashed and locked up my entire PC during a loading screen 3 different times. One of the times even happened after I changed to fullscreen mode as per recommendation of another thread. fingers crossed their team can iron out some of these performance issues so I can play during the holidays :) |

Same issue as of today. Maybe I should pull out an old clunker to play POE on.
AMD 7 7800X3D 4080 64 GB RAM MSI MPG 870E Carbon Wifi Windows 11 24H2 Then today I decided to put in the AMD 9800X3D...same issue running maps with that CPU ms lag status graph...up and down spikes. Tried changing game settings...etc Other games do not have the studdering. |
