When are you going to make Bloodmage better?
I pushed my ED hexblast bloodmage up to act 1 cruel, and im just fed up with how bad this class is.
First of all yes, i know that leech was buffed yesterday. It still sucks. Why do i have to pay my mana cost in health in exchange of nothing? The blood orbs are terrible, they are worthless against bosses and unless you are at endgame with a fully built character you will never make good use of the overheal when mapping. There are people running comet for instance, it nukes their health bar and it goes back up immediately thanks to the leech. The problem is, you need some insane damage for that recovery and its just recovering something you wouldn't lose if the ascendancy didn't eat your life away. So its a net neutral. seriously, it feels like im building my entire character around the downside that is the built in lifetap, instead of benefitting from my ascendancy im actually just fighting against it. why are the drawbacks so comically severe? Why is one ascendancy so bad outside endgame with good gearing a good idea? Do you have any idea of how bad it is when you put your first two points in bloodmage? Why are the first two points mandatory? you KNOW that no one would pick that. I know it sounds like whining but i genuinely can't think of a positive thing about this ascendancy, and the fact that the game does not allow me to pick the other ascendancy makes it even worse. I can't just change my build. The cherry on top is that even after removing all points from my asc tree, i still use health to cast spells, no idea why. There are plenty of asendancy nodes on Infernalist as well that feels just bad.
The Asendancy designs definitely need to be looked at. Maybe they were under certain circumstances at level 80. But seems very niche then and a horrible trap for most PoE 2 noobs. |

Couldn't find a phys skill that I liked. Elemental skills convert almost all phys to ele. Can't leech mana effectively because mana leech are mostly phys only.
I picked Blood Magic. I'm already running life regen gear so it was manageable. Ascended just before Act 2 boss. Was wondering why mobs in Dreadnaught area was hitting so hard. I had to use life flasks frequently. Failed Act 2 boss repeatedly. Then by chance I tried using my default attack which doesn't require mana or life cost. Suddenly, I'm facetanking Act 2 boss bullet hell phases as well as the homing electric fence. So it turns out that I was killing myself because my life regen could no longer sustain the doubled life costs, no thanks to the ascendancy. I've unpicked Blood Magic but now I need to use mana flasks again. Sigh... Don't make the same mistake that I made. |

" That was my act 2 experience aswell, and curses cost a lot of mana/health. its crazy how this is something you have access from act 2 yet it completely demolishes any character that isn't fully spelcialized into it, which also requires way more levels/gear to be achieveable. but alas, its the very first two points you pick. |
