quitting monk

i started as monk huffing pure copium that flicker strike would even be a shell of its former self but in general its not. but that is not my main issue with monk.

monk basically REQUIRES using the bell for good dps and when i am in stupid maps like the dreadnought being stuck in tight areas full of ranged mobs i'm not only being body blocked by the zone/mobs i have to block myself with the stupid bell.
often the ranged mobs are out of reach for the bell to kill, meaning i sit there stuck behind it in a tight area being shot at like an idiot. this would not be a huge deal if I did not have to use this damn thing to have actual damage. literally tried to hard to push through and deal with this bs over the course of 47 hours play time because i want to play flicker so badly but i just cannot stand F***ing body blocking myself with my own skills

TL;DR body blocking is cancer and having your own skill block you feels awful

I'm with you on the bell almost being necessary. The way it magnifies damage is pretty insane. Especially in multiplayer. I don't want them to change the bell size and make it phasable...but I do want them to provide other avenues of DPS and ability that don't involve dropping carol of the bells all over the battlefield.

And this may be me us not thinking outside their "pathway" when it comes to the monk. There may be other options that are impressive with the monk. I just lack the time to develop/try them.

I loved flicker strike in POE1. It was always a pipe dream to make work against high-level content without another character to feed it end-game gear. And from what I've heard, it's more of a finisher in this game. Which... cool. but I did love the randomn/stroke-inducing playstyle of flicker strike.
