Mace skills need a buff/rework asap!

IMHO warrior really feels lackluster or unfinished atm. I rerolled to sorc after act 3 and had a much better time (until last update bricked trigger gems), even though I never play caster classes...
The problem I am having with warrior is, that many skills just aren't worth using because they aren't viable compared to the cookie cutter boneshatter + rolling slam + auto attack.

I love earthquake, but dealing like 40% weapon damage and have to wait 4 seconds for the explosion, that doesn't even deal damage close to boneshatter or other heavy hitters with casttimes etc. Also most bosses don't stay around on the same spot for 4 seconds and you can't even stack explosions.

Armour breaker 60% Base damage... you can break more armor and deal more damage with basic attack.

Every shield-based skill deals like no damage, even if you go for full shield build. Also bosses can still crush you through your block. So the whole mechanic feels pretty unrewarding for the damage you lose not dual wielding/using a 2h weapon.

The last one might be just me, but I don't enjoy the skills that require other skills to make something explode for damage or the skills you can charge up. It's a cool idea, but it's just to hard to get them off in a reliable way with bosses wailing on you or moving around.

Also just noticed, that there is no way to increase the level of molten blast via weapons, since it isn't a melee skill, well done.

Why not increase mace skills or give molten blast melee tag too (because gloves can also roll with +lvl to melee skills)?!

I agree.

I don't need the Warrior to be flashy. I need him to be able to take massive hits and punch the bosses in the face. That's what I need. I play Hardcore. Going to 25% health on a boss you're overgeared and properly specced for is uncalled for. I'm a Warrior, i'm not trying to kite bosses with a Totem. I don't even like the idea of using Totems. I'm not a Druid or Shamanistic class.
Warrior needs to be alot tankier, there is only one 5% all res node, why not more? How about a new bigger node that reduces phys dmg by 30%? stuff like that
I like playing warrior, Rolling Slam or Shield Charge then Boneshatter for groups, and Basic attack to Boneshatter for bosses (with the block that break armor) and it's fun for me.

BUT

Warrior as well as other characters should have wider option of skill choice. This is easy to achive by less connection of skills to weapons.
- Some skills could be used with two or more weapons (i.e. bows and crossbows)
- Some skills could be used wit groups of weapons (i.e. all smashing/ all slashing/ all piercing/ all caster weapons)
- Some skills could be used regardless of weapons (i.e. totems, traps, granades and other similat things).

So club using warrior could use some monk skills.
Axe warrior could use some sword and some club skills.
Etc.
I mostly agree. I have a pretty solid build going on my 65 WB...but outside of bosses, the minute to minute gameplay is just off. Really slow animations to get attacks off on mobs that move increasingly faster and do more damage is not a great feeling.

I've seen some builds absolutely slap with a combination of warcries and movement abilities that go pretty damn quick, so there are options. But I think the overall playstyle given how if you go heavy into being tanky your dps is pretty meh, and if you go heavy into dps you're squishy but most of your attacks are slow and clunky so you get destroyed feels bad.

I'll just come back to it at some point down the road, or do what I do when something isn't for me, and play something else. My Pathfinder has been cooking pretty hard, might try and monk soon. My vacation time is coming to an end so my time of no-lifing this is coming to an abrupt end soon :D
Warrior is feeling great but if you only got to act 3 youre judgement isn't really based in truth.

Blasting maps and have been blasting since about level 55.

That doesn't change the fact, that some skills are simply not viable due to low weapon damage scaling, some of the heavy hitting abilities are far to slow to pull off reliable for the enemy behavior atm, nor that basic attack + boneshatter is the go to for most players leveling a warrior.

I'm also not against heavy hitters with slow animations (they can be pretty great like in Lost Ark for example), but they need to be reliable... not getting you killed while standing still for 2 seconds or enemies just taking a step back and your perfect strike hits nothing.

I'm not saying warrior is unplayable or something, just that so many skills aren't worth using atm. I stopped playing warrior as first character near to act 3 because I was struggling against almost every boss (the chimera in the trial was impossible with its aerial denial), so I tried out different classes instead of getting mad playing warrior.
PS: I didn't know that poe/trade2 was up already, with some better gear my warrior could have been better off.

Today I started a fresh warrior, going for flame blast, perfect strike and going the club & board route. Didn't find any Videos/Builds about that, so I might get lucky and it wont be dead after hotfix like my sorc. So far it feels great, but sadly maces don't have any synergies with that skill, because it's neither melee nor a slam. Just feels weird, when the weapon required for that skill doesn't include the skill in the +x level to all x skills affix.
So there is definitely room for improvements.

Also thanks for all the replies guys, was pretty salty when I posted this right after my sorc got destroyed and checked out my failed warrior :D
