Skill gems are incredible in practice-- but they need an economic rework

I love the way skill gems work, and I had an absolute blast with them, until end game.

At the end game, there is a huge traffic jam on skill gems. In POE1, the most 6-links the group players and pushers who really trendset the economy will need is 2. As a result, a 6 link becomes extremely affordable within a few days.

With the current economic situation, the pushers and the groupers will want 6-links for all their gear, and this will keep the price of 5 and 6 linking extremely high for a long time into the league. This is further confounded by the fact that if we want to league start something and 6-link it, we are then unable to use that 6-link again since it was attached to the skill.

So this means as people continue through the week to finish their league starters and move on to new builds, they'll need a whole new round of 6-links, keeping the 6-link items completely unaffordable for us new players.

The 5 and 6 linking situation is going to be extremely dire for a long while into the league... This situation needs some further economic thought.

Ideas that might mitigate:
* Cap 5-6 links to 2 or 3 slots?
* Move the links from being skill-gem based to being slot based?
* Drastically increase the drop rate of all linking items so that it's a non issue?

I'm really not sure I like any of these solutions, but this is a huge problem.
