As long as Ascendancy points are locked behind Ultimatum AND Ritual, I am uninstalling PoE2

Title.

In PoE, Ultimatum is already the mechanic that I actively avoid just because how sudden everything is (enemies spawn on top of you, mechanics just explode right next to you out of nowhere).

Now, I was having fun, playing PoE2 making multiple characters just to find out that in act 3, you basically HAVE TO finish an ULTIMATUM in order to obtain your 3rd + 4th ascendancy points.

Now, I might be able to deal with this if I'm using a faster build with good cast speed + defenses + devs nerfed a lot of stuffs. Even if I am a long time Souls enjoyer + PoE enjoyer of 4k hours, I still cannot get past 4th stage of ultimatum just because SOMETHING STUPID will happen.

Either my pc will suddenly lag spike (sometime it happens because I don't have an SSD), the mechanics will outright kill me (red donut ring is hard to see in the middle of boss AoE attacks), or lag will happen, and I'm shit out of luck and have to redo everything again, 20 minutes down the drain.

I already failed this trial of chaos 22 times, that's 440 minutes of me not progressing with the story, 440 minutes of me not getting meaningful exp points because I have to redo the same piece of content over and over again.

Some of you will just say 'skill issue', and tbh you can say that, I'm okay with that. Not everybody got mad skills, and I'm at peace with myself having skill issues.

I like this game, I spent thousand of hours in PoE, and I'm not averse to challenge.

I just don't want to do Ultimatum.

I'm uninstalling this game, I'm going back to PoE 1, and if I really want a good challenge, I'll replay DS1/2/3 or Sekiro.

+1, trials locking ascendancy (aka core character progression) feels outdated anyway. The hardest content should be for gear/currency only.
Yep. This is garbage game design. Really poorly thought out and executed. Basically impossible for melee builds.

I was absolutely loving this game, and this just ruined it for me. Lost all desire to play. Key character progression should never be locked behind something like this. Just stupid.

I agree, the fact that hard content like Ritual and Ultimatum not giving us any meaningful loot also didn't do them any favours.

I wouldn't say it's garbage per se, but it would be better if we have some alternative methods of obtaining ascendancy points that is NOT Ultimatum and Ritual only.
