Demonform: Semantics of "Lifelose" and "Damage"
So I want to do a Demonform build and it is rather frustrating. Not because of the bugs, but because the wording in PoE 2 is very unclear.
In the description of Demonform it speaks of "Lifelose" per second, so "Heartstopper" (Damage over time is reduced by 50%) should work and cut the damage in half right? Now, some people have told me that "Lifelose" is not counted as "damage" therefor Heartstopper doesn't work. Is that correct? On a different note, the recoup passive skills also don't work as they only care about "Hits" which are one time damage effects; so no "damage over time". What I ask myself now is, if it would trigger with the "Pyromantic Pact explosion"? Ty everybody Last bumped on Dec 12, 2024, 9:13:44 AM

Recoup would affect the pyromantic pact explosion as it is a fire damage hit. Losing life is a degen that does not count as damage. Your only options are regen and leech or other sources of recovery. I would suggest lowering life and getting flat leech or capping yourself at 10 max demonflame stacks and going percentage regen. I think the first option is better by miles.
As for heartstopper, it wouldn't work as losing life is not the same as taking damage over time. I know it's complicated, but I believe they have an upfront explanation in game if you hover over where it says "lose" on the demon form node. |
