Centered UI only for ultrawide?
Does not make any sense. Centering the important UI elements should be the default, the opposite is against our own brain. The action occurs mostly in the middle of the screen, so why add important things like (de)buffs, life and mana and so on toward the screen corners? If is the only place, add movement to them, our brain is good checking on movement in our peripheral vision.
I have adhd, so even the life and mana bars over the character is nothing to me because there are the bottles on the corners, so maybe the bars should have some "life" and shake or blink when being consumed. Celia Hodent does a good job on her book "Gamer's brain" talking about how our brain works and I always see subpar UX choices in many AAA games, why?! :( Last bumped on Dec 11, 2024, 6:55:23 PM
