Controller aiming.
This needs to be looked at, it's really wonky trying to avoid things and then aim as a ranged and melee class. I have played both and feel that while trying to dodge and then attack, I rarely aim back at my intended target.
Could we possibly please add a lock on feature, like most other games have? The amount of DPS I lose because my skills do not go where I intend them too is a bit frustrating! Last bumped on Dec 17, 2024, 11:25:57 AM

DL3MA, there is an option to switch aiming method if you have not seen (check the quick bind menu to find it). It allows you to single focus target an enemy. However from my experience, the secondary option is unpleasent to use.
Anyway... To detail my issue with yours I believe the main method of aiming could be improved, I found an issue that may translate between many different abilities: I've been using Sunder on Warrior, and it has taken me a long time to realise that the left-stick is used to aim the Sunder shot. And right stick will not override the targetting. I naturally try to use my left-stick to run one direction (away from the mob), and then I'll aim the right stick in the opposite direction... This resulted in many issues, where I would target a single enemy instead of a mob. I understand GGG's decision here because with the Rolling Slam ability you use the left-stick to direct and control your slam. You might be pressing a lot of buttons, like ABXY at these times, and GGG's system allows you to keep an ABXY button pressed whilst aiming with the left stick. Despite this, I still want to move my thumb over to the right-stick to over-ride and target. I would argue that with the rolling slam, the ability feels like a movement ability and naturally made sense to me with the left-stick. Where as the Sunder ability feels like a 100% aiming ability. In my situation above, and perhaps many others I would like to see the Right-Stick be able to override the left-stick AND somewhat override/guide the auto-aiming in this game.
