Path of Exiles 2 Wishlist
This game offers thousands of elements that make it fun and enjoyable. I’m absolutely loving it so far! However, as with any early access title, there are a few areas I feel could hold it back from achieving true greatness. It’s only been three days since launch, so I can’t speak with authority, but here are some aspects I’ve found frustrating so far.
Bullet Sponge Be-Gone The biggest issue for me—and likely a frustration for others—is fighting enemies that feel like bullet sponges. While challenging enemies can be engaging, they’re not always fun to deal with. This is especially true when facing rare enemies with health regeneration, HP sap abilities, or excessively large health pools. The maps themselves are already expansive, which I love, but being forced to spend up to 10 minutes chipping away at a single enemy can feel more like a chore than a challenge. This is especially true when playing with friends. At the moment I don't even want to do bosses with my friends because it takes a difficult but reasonable fight and turns it into a 20-minute chore. Enemies Respawning Mowing down hordes of enemies with mystical abilities is insanely fun, but that joy quickly disappears when you die. The frustration isn’t just about dying—it’s about realizing you now have to fight through the same waves of enemies all over again on the same large map. This repetition doesn’t feel rewarding; it feels tedious, and tedious isn’t fun. Loot Despawning This ties closely to the previous issue. It seems like loot despawns when enemies respawn, and neither of these mechanics feels satisfying. Few things are as adrenaline-pumping as a close fight with a boss, where you watch their health tick down just as you collapse, defeated. But realizing you’ve lost all the loot because of this can be a real letdown. It diminishes the thrill of the encounter and leaves you feeling more frustrated than motivated. Skill Menu It would be very beneficial to be able to see the skills that can be obtained through gems via a menu. In Path of Exiles 1 we were able to look this up pretty easily but would be nice to be able to do that here as well. +1 to this. I also feel that alot of the ranged magic casting mobs are totally OP. I have been in situtaions where I have died at the last moment to a rare, re-spawned and just hit trash mobs, yet on the flip side I have died to a random magic thrower gone back in to kill it and then got ganked by a cr@p tonne of enemis and rares. The balance is way off.

also allow us to dual wield a staff and sword like gandalf. Battle mage should be obtainable.

Agreed on bullet sponge & loot despawn.
I think having at least a portion of enemies respawn is fine. One thing I’ve learned from Dark Souls/Elden Ring is: you don’t have to kill every enemy to get to whatever is behind them. In other words: I have started running past effectively everything. Is that a great gameplay experience for PoE2? Sometimes, definitely not always. It’s exciting to see if you can roll through dense areas, and fight your way out when you get stuck. But it should not be so needed as it currently is. Maps are HUGE, and killing everything takes AGES, which is why just running past it becomes very enticing. |

Agree with pretty much everything. Respawning enemies makes already long campaign zones take entirely too long if you slip up and die, loot despawning should not be a thing unless you lose a map (which should still have 6 portals but that's a separate topic), and the difficulty tuning is completely wrong. If you're not playing an OP streamer build that will likely get nerfed anyway the game feels extremely poorly balanced.
