POE 2 Act3 Gateway problem

After being sent to cruel difficulty, I realized that I have not used a quest item to "Sacrificial Heart". Upon trying to go do it, I realized, I have no way to access the area. Is this a bug. The gateway keeps sending me to the riverbank. Please someone help.

I am also having this problem with trying to get back into the past to use the sacrificial heart in act 3 (normal). It keeps sending me back to the riverbank and i am unable to enter into the past area to complete the sacrificial heart questline.
