Consider changing how Ascendancy Trial Keys work.

I think its going to be a massive problem in the future with the current way the trials work. The currency required to run trials is already rare. Having them deplete after a failed attempt means if you get unlucky with a run you basically waste that attempt. This is probably the biggest pain point across all the trials. There is already pushback about the actual difficulty but I think this is the bigger problem overall. Scaling can be tweaked but just the lose of an attempt means potentially hours of farming for another one.

My suggestion is to just not have the key deplete until you have successfully finished cleared that run. It wont take away the challenge of completing the runs themselves but takes away the frustration of having to constantly farm keys to even make one attempt. I think this would solve so many problems that would come in the future.

I understand Ascension is supposed to be something as part of an endgame progression which I am totally ok with but that has to come with some level of player friendliness. Otherwise people will just not do the content. Players are ok with things being hard as long as they are allowed to attempt it with zero friction to their time invested.

The reason I think this is a better solution than just increasing the drop rates of the keys themselves is because increasing drop rates is a bandage solution to the problem of having to farm keys to make attempts. Especially when you will have to also get a special currency to attempt the pinnacle boss of that content on top of the normal content.

Farming keys to do a run is fine but there has to be a sense that the player doesnt feel like they are wasting their time doing the content only to come out of it with nothing to show for it.

Since you only get rewarded when you finish a run spending all that time needs to feel like you are getting something out of it instead of just feeling like you spend sometimes up to an hour on content and get nothing out of it.
