Progression feels messed up wtf is going on in Utzaal at act3?

I'm completely stuck here at lvl 47 as monk with 1100k life/400es 18fire, 19cold, 17light, 9 chaos resist. It takes so long to get to Viper who's another huge hurdle I can't seem to manage. Already respecced my tree twice. Bell/flurry/charged staff/storm wave. Previous content felt alright, but this area feels like a chaos trial lite that I btw can't handle either - haven't even seen the boss there yet - just keep getting one tapped by poison/chaos dmg or stun locks.

The vendors are selling mainly lvl 33 crap and I already burned a few regals and even exalts to even get to this point. What am I supposed to do, farm Chimera and other lower lvl content?

Two things helped TREMENDOUSLY here: poison charm and slows.

She Viper is a bit rough without the poison charm and the slows make the mobs WAY more manageable. I've gone through here 4 times so far (two map characters) and each time these two things were key here. If you're monk, focus on chill/freeze it'll be a breeze.

This is why I went Minions until a lot of the issues, like Melee being weak, get improved upon.
I will always have that damage uptime, I Can just focus on surviving.

I got to this place last night and thought I was crazy when it felt so much harder than the rest of the game. I got through it but it was rough. Lightning monk with similar build to yours.

Well the freeze strategy helped me a little a bit and i FINALLY slogged back to Viper. Had to respec some points again since i was running out of mana against her once she dropped around half life, but slam dunked the fight eventually. I don't have a poison charm - where are we supposed to find these with current drop rates anyway?

Just a git gud boss as lots of dodging/timing helped me here I reckon, plus I did find a life flask with charge regeneration on it which helped out a ton.
