So why exactly did they destroy performance with the patch a few leagues ago and never fixed it?

Everyone who was around last year knows that there was some weird patch or “upgrade” or whatever it was that they did that inexplicably killed performance for lots of people across a variety of computer types/builds. We were told that they implemented some stuff for POE2 into the code of POE1 cause it was shared in some way and that was why it could never be fixed. (I don’t know if that’s from GGG or just a rumor, but that was what was parroted by everyone in the community and on this forum.)

Well now it is quite clear that POE1/2 are totally separate and have nothing to do with each other (although we knew that last year when this happened but we were forced to give them the benefit of the doubt.)

So then what’s up with that now? Why was this never fixed? Why was this never addressed? I keep being told “go play poe1 if that is what you want” …. Well I would GLADLY do that except THEY FUCKING BRICKED THE GAME AND I CANT PLAY IT ANYMORE. So what’s the deal? Did they lie to us? Was it just a rumor and they didn’t even address it at all? I literally stopped playing for over a year and just waited for POE2 cause I had a ps5 and figured if I can’t play on pc this would be good enough. But now I’m met with this dogshit game I don’t want to play.

So was there actually things from poe2 implemented into poe1 code? Was it something they can’t even figure out? I feel like this just got swept under the rug. The game was smooth like butter for me in Crucible and then overnight it became unplayable. I literally had to ask people which builds were suitable with less projectiles and stuff on screen so I could try and manage to play.

While I don’t share your opinion of this game my friend was complaining more after Crucible league for sure. I was on PS5 so it didn’t feel any different but Affliction and Trials were unplayable for him sadly.
