People are playing current loot meta completely wrong
Even in PoE 1 rare doesn't mean crap because it has most of time useless stats. Here you have almost no rare drops so add that to insult.
What you need is find high item lvl (WHITE or BLUE quality with with good extra stats). You can see item level by holding ALT button on item. Then transform it to yellow quality. Also you should focus ONLY getting WEAPON first. HP/res/rolling is more than enough defense for lasting bosses. This means you need add +2 socket to it. You need 20% quality it. You need spend 100k gold on gamble or check rares from normal vendor. Yes it would be fun to find actually decent items from world but even poe 1 with crazy drops/lootfilters it was never like that. You had to at least 60% of time build item yourself. If everything else fails use that lame poe trade shop. I recommend SSF though as trading ruins your experience. We know. It’s stupid as fuck and ruins the game. Great items should be something that drop from monsters and I should know that it’s great the moment it drops. Then there should be a crafting system on top of that. That is literally the entire selling point of a game like this. But instead we have taken the scroll of identify from Diablo 2 and essentially turned it into a braindead 5 step process of augment/transmute/whatever and hoping for great stats.

" For me it seems people do not know. There are many non poe1 players in mix. So they keep banging their head against wall and wipe 10+ time on some boss when all they had to do is build proper weapon and farm bit orbs. D2 was alot about crafting with runes, but it was never essential part of progress. You could find nice set items/uniques. Here on other hand you hardly ever find legendaries and 90% of time completely useless. Rares suck because it's rarely for your class. We also have dead stats in mix like gain life/mana after kill (useless for boss), 25% reduced attributes, stun threshold (too low to matter), increase rarity items (again value too low to matter), Thorn damage.. Oh and by far worst stat -> "increased light radius". You are dependent only on rares which 1. Has dead stats 2. Has low value stats 3. Is not item suitable for your class/build. 4. Rares rarely drop in first place. "Drops" in this game is boring/bland and I'm glad at least crafting allows you to design from decent base stats and it is essential part of game. Not much but it's something. Last edited by Goredeath#7093 on Dec 10, 2024, 9:22:21 PM
