POE 2 can't get off river bank

I can't get off the river bank, keeps blocking me with a red wall of some kind. I can see the first check point, but can't get to it. tried other classes, but same thing

You need to beat The Miller (boss) to get to Clearfell. Are you sure that you have explored the area thoroughly? There are 2 checkpoints, the second one is near the boss.
