Lingering Illusion + Profusion + Serpent's Egg interaction
Hi,
So I believe there is a bug with the interaction between Lingering Illusion with Profusion and using the unique Serpent's Egg. As when you generate a power charge you only get (2) however reading the items/skills separately I believe it should generate more. The mechanics My Lingering Illusion has has 52% chance to grant an additional power charge when killed. Profusion Grants 50% to grant an additional charge when killed. Serpent's Egg Says Gain an additional charge when you gain a charge. Two Understandings 1st = Lingering Illusion + Profusion generates (2) charges guaranteed. When using this in conjunction with Serpent's Egg anticipating that since you are Gaining a charge twice it would therefore grant (4) charges. 2nd = Lingering Illusion + Profusion generates (2) charges guaranteed. When using this in conjunction with Serpent's Egg you gain (1) additional charge as you have only gained (1) charge that granted an additional charge. Conclusion a) interaction is bugged and should generate either (3) or (4). b) interaction is intended but requires clarification. Suggestion would be to change wording of serpents fang to 100% chance to generate an additional charge. And then underline "chance to generate an additional charge" to say it is capped at 100%. I am also seeing this interaction. It's almost certainly not the intention, as using Combat Frenzy at 20% quality, Profusion, and Serpent's Egg generates 3 charges each time Combat Frenzy triggers. Lingering Illusion should similarly be generating (at least) 3 charges each time it would try to generate a charge. I have a level 17, 20 quality lingering illusion. With Profusion, it comes to 134% chance to generate an additional charge. And Serpent's Egg generates one more on top of that. So, 34% of the time it should generate 4 charges, otherwise it generates 3.

Wait, the way you typed it is kinda off.
So Lingering Illusion on its own has: Grants (1) power charge upon enemies killing the illusion. Has a (#%) to also grant an additional charge (1) & depending on quality that chance is raised. Profusion: Has a (#%) for supported skills to grant additional power charge (1). Now with top quality and gem level, the % are additive I suppose, so there is no guarantee you'll get (2) power charges. Conclusion: You have 100% to get a power charge (1) & (#%) to get an additional power charge (1). How big that (#%) is, I don't know. When you add the Amulet: You will always receive minimum (2) power charges, and maximum (4). Question: What are your (#%) to get an additional power charge separately from Profusion and Illusion? Forgot to add: It could be the case that quality increases for Illusion to grant another charge might be tied to the gem itself, and is not a general stat that gives you additional charge. Meaning, they don't combine with Profusion chance to grant you charge. Small note: Maximum charges are capped to 3. So for you to gain any more than 3 you need to take a node or unique item that gives you +1 to power charges. Last edited by ex_IllusionisT#8571 on Jan 10, 2025, 7:14:14 AM
