manifold method node - mana leach question

Hello,

Wanted to know how the mana leach from this node works.
Is it all damage that leach?
Because i do mainly lightning damage with my monk and barely any physical so i was wondering.
Tried to pick it but i dont really notice any leech going on.
I recall it was very useful on my bleed glad.
