Petition on Clarity of Supporter Pack Proceedings (PoE 1 / 2)

Hello,

long time player here, this is not a feedback about PoE 2 but a petition to GGG on clarity on where the proceedings go for Store Purchases from here on out.

I would petition GGG to add clarification to any shop purchase which product / team the proceedings support if at all possible.

A lot of feedback is met with "stay with PoE 1" and "go back to PoE 1, this game is not for you" which i fully intend to. I spend over 500$ on PoE over the years and got the key for free.

I don't need to like it, i don't need to play it but i surely won't pay for it either beyond what i probably already have.

So from here on out i will not spend a single cent on any supporter pack or other shop purchase until i see clear information on where the proceedings of the purchase go, i will only support the game that "is for me" and that "i am to stick to" and not pay for a game that was not made for me.

kind regards

Your pettiness isn't going to invoke any change. If anything, you need to realize that "support" is marketing speak for "funding". It's a proven fact that people are willing to spend more on something if they associate it with a positive feeling/cause. You are not going to get any clarification because it is not owed. Your funding goes towards the company and its shareholders. It's been over a decade since the "bunch of guys in a garage" era. GGG is a fully grown company with real stakes and major shareholders.

No.
It's not pettiness it's just simple consumer transaction, if i can't choose which product I'm buying / supporting than i am not going to do so. Works the same in any other free market, that's all i am trying to convey here.

Also i don't need anyone's approval, if your fine with how things are that's good for you.

And yes of course i know GGG is a full blown company and does not owe me any explanation or anything at all, but they are also not owed my money either, its a bidirectional relationship.
While i understand where you are coming from, i think they wont and shouldnt do that.

But it is self regulating of sorts anyway.

If more people are playing and buying MTX out of either version of the game, they company will act accordingly to invest more development power into the product thats generating more money.

Its a business after all.

They knew that the differences between the 2 games, are big and it will not be for everyone. It is a different product, even if it shares a name.

I dont know what people are on about with that negativity. When Blizzard made Overwatch, it was received well, even if you could say that now *insert fav Blizzard game* receives less attention because they develop Overwatch now.
To go with your Blizzard analogy, and why i was asking for this in the first place, when blizzard comes out with any new game i can choose not to buy it, but i am still playing and paying actively for WoW.

The difference is that my purchases are directly stated as being for WoW not Overwatch or other games, now what Blizz does with the money is completely up to them but at least my intentions are clear.

Here with Supporter packs its unclear on purchase which game you did so for since they work in both. They could track each players playtime in either game of course but i doubt they will spend that much effort into it for simple shop transactions. Some clarity here would help a long way, until then i am assuming that to them it does not matter since it's money into the same account.

I want to have more direct agency at least from my part to indicate what i am spending for like i have with other companies where you buy individual products / gametime for them. I won't just pay into a "pot" and hope it gets tracked or put to use that actually benefits a game that is "for me" and not one that "is not made for me".
Ah yes, didnt think about the "works in both games" part of the MTX.

I would still assume, that they track if its bought in either games ingame MTX stores. It is easy to track and that kind of data is valuable.

For the, what the developer does with the money part, i feel like we are at their mercy no matter what. Even if you had a clear indication of "this mtx supports Poe1" - as you said, its money in their account, theyll be using as needed.

But i am still positive about, that it will be rather easy for them to figure out which of the 2 games needs attention an ressources. They have exact player numbers, time spent per player, money spent per player and in no universe they would ignore those facts when deciding what to do.

Since the 2 games are very different, i feel like there is a solid chance for them to keep both healthy for it widens up the target audiences and possible customers.
