Magnified Effect

When I add the Magnified Effect (40% more Area of Effect) support gem to Herald of Ash skill (1 meter blast radius) the Explosion Radius tool tip shows an increased difference of 0.1. I expected to see an increase of 0.4 for a total of 1.4.

Is this a bug in the interface or is the calculation off? Possibly my understanding of how the radius is effected is wrong, but if not then I suspect an issue.

It might be a rounding issue. Increasing the area of a 1m circle (not the radius) by 40% would result in a circle with a radius just short of 1.2m.
I also tried to use magnified effect on Vine Arrows and expected an increase in the vine attachment range or something. Didn't seem to change it at all.
I tried to use magnified effect on cold snap, but the explosion radius doesn't increase
The Magnified Effect that says gives 40% AOE is actually gives only 15% i tested and calculated with over 20 different skills and always added 15% on it.
So please fix it because 15% is nothing. Firebolt explosion radius is 0,7m +40% AOE should give you nealy 1m but gives 0,8m which is actually 0,7+15% that is 0.8 This works for all.
+1
Do you guys know the difference between radius and area? Please go back to elementary school or google it, but the quick explaination is that as radius grows, area grows quadratically. r^2, so 40% more area is sqrt(1.40)% more radius, not 40% more.
Also the game rounds down, always. Distance in PoE works in units, where 10 units are "1 meter". The radius of 1.18 meters for Herald of Ash with Magnified Effect, which is 11.8 units, gets rounded down to 11 units or 1.1 meters.

And yes, that can make Magnified Effect, and other sources of inc. AoE, potentially bad for many skills with low base area. Knowledge about rounding behavior and resulting break points can be very helpful in this game.

In case of HoA:

21% inc. AoE = 1.1 m radius
44% inc. AoE = 1.2 m radius
69% inc. AoE = 1.3 m radius

Edit: Just saw that the gem gives 40% more AoE. The math here is still correct for increased and more AoE individually. To get the resulting radius when having both you probably need to do: radius = baseRadius * sqrt(increased * more)
