For everyone that says the game is hard!!!
Your right, it's hard, but thats only on your first fresh play through. Once you get some levels on a character, start stashing gear drops, gems and some gold, your next character is faceroll!!
I rerolled and was able to craft bunch of gear at level 1, get most of my gems off the ripper and I'm absolutely demolishing the game. I think some minor adjustments here or there is probably warranted, but honestly I am ok with the first play through each league being difficult. Once you get through a couple acts and stash some items and gear, your next character having access to everything will absolutely blast! I think a bigger issue for me is map sizes. No offense bro but it sounds like you never got to the hard parts. That's the problem with these, but wait a minute posts, you can do X Y and Z. There from people that never reached anything hard yet.
The IRONY is however that the parts they think were hard themselves (double irony) were not the places where it got hard. Often times they never got to anything hard yet. I come back latter to steam or reddit post and they end up deleting the post that was defending it. Cause they realized that they were wrong. |

I have finished the campaign and done 3-4 maps... The game is hard (compared to others) thats not open for discussion (and I find it very refreshing that the game is but sadly it will likely never be mainstream - people dont want/cant do hard anymore).
I think the crux of the game is, the game is 50% -how well you play your character -how well you build your character Perform poorly in either category and you will likely fail. Perform exceptionally masterful in either and you will succeed. Right now there are a few builds or archetypes that are just way too hard to build (melee comes to mind, need high roll phys, phy% on weapons and enough well rolled defences on armour -> as well as need exceptionally good gameplay skill).... there is not really that much in the tree\gem setups to bring down the skill level its mostly items and you still need high skill... though maybe you could perfectly time Magma barrier block to get endurance charges and consume them... or maybe they could remove the .25 sec so raise shield always grants endurance charges.... I dunno I need to play around with it. Compare this to an SRS flamewall minion that gets enough from gems and passives to finish the campaign EASILY and stroll into mapping (I just did this, abandoned the warrior who was struggling HARD day 1 and started a witch day 2... chalk and cheese, the witch just doesnt struggle at its base and dominates with good gear --> this is perfect tuning and where the game should be, make a mistake you die, play average to ok and you will win). Nothing wrong with real difficulty. Problem is the reward and pace is way to slow and the game is not interesting. A good share of the difficulty is contrived, and once a clever streamer figured out how to play it more like poe 1 they nerfed the build. If GGG had offered a free weekend open demo of even just part of act 1 I believe they would not have the sales they did. They are also going to lose a bunch of stash tab sales. No loot means not as many tabs needed. Also, dark souls enjoyers don't buy as much mtx. Longer spent on bosses means less screen time in towns where others can see your mtx. And has already been pointed it out a whole raft of players are not going to be up for 15 hour plus campaign every character. ARPG dedicated 20hr week casuals like me are certainly not going to be interested in an uninteresting and slow campaign that will take us 1-2 weeks instead of a weekend and a few days.

Game is too hard and too slow, I played for a long time but never been like this. I always playing with top gears but still 1 shot death in the act1 level 11 monsters with 98K energy shield. GGG breatedd super monsters who's so powerful I bet all POE monsters have a S marks on the chest.
