Unfun, tedious transformation into a Dark Souls game that sucks.

All of the things that I enjoy about top down ARPGs in the style of Titan's Quest, Diablo, Grim Dawn, etc has been completely ruined by this ridiculous trend of all games trying to be Dark Souls like.

Hard does not equal fun when that difficulty is tedious, the rewards are weak, and the difficulty is so high that it alienates all by the most sweaty gamers.

I am beyond disappointed with the state of things right now.

What intrigues me is how the narrative that 1-DS are successful and 2-DS are difficult games has caught on when this is just a narrative.
-Look at the list of the 200 best-selling games of all time, there is NO Souls-like game and another SINGLE game in the Diablo franchise (Diablo 3) has sold more than ALL the Souls-like games combined. I personally don't like D3 but it's a fact.
-Souls are collection games, which for a first-time hypercasual player seem difficult, but once you understand the pathetic and pathetic dance of their fights, they are as easy or easier than old platform games (from where they COPIED the formula of artificially punishing gameplay to cover up the shallow content).
ALL Souls-like games (even Elden Ring, which is the only one I consider a good game) have MINUTES of content, the records for finishing them are around 30~50 minutes. You can't call this difficult.
- Finally, on PC (where we have real and open statistics) all Soulslikes have a 90% drop in audience after the first 12 hours of play. HOW can anyone think that this model would be good for a seasonal game based on audience retention?
