Ascent to Power

Sanctum - the most anti-melee league possible required to earn ascendancies in POE2. You can say it, you hate melee players.

Huh odd, I played sanctum as melee and it was really easy, easier than with most ranged builds since enemies were trivial to dodge in melee while staying at range would get you clipped by random projectiles or the larger aoe attacks enemies would use.

Just wait till you get to the second trial as melee if you think sanctum is unfair.

You can go for Ultimatum instead of Sanctum if you prefer.

For Sanctum, for first ascendancy at least, you have a lot of Honour, and there are quite a few fountains. It should be fairly easy for any build that has some dps.

WHAT! Those random projectiles move 4 pixels before they just smack melee in their face. Range you see the projectile from half the screen away allowing you to move.

I literally had a rare that I needed to kill that every time you hit him massive AOE pools covered the entire area, instantly knocking down my honor.


Your logic is unbelievable on this.

Sanctum being the way to get ascendancies is such a huge design misstep.

Your logic is unbelievable on this.

Slow projectiles that track players have a priming timer. So melee or range, does not matter. Both get the same time before the projectile deals damage.
Fast projectiles however will nick you a lot more if you are at long range or even worse when you try to kill enemies offscreen, since you will not see the enemy prepare an attack.
Aoe garbage is an issue with melee in the current trials however. And the best thing you can do is just disengage every few attacks.

What a shame. I was having so much fun with the game until I reached this mess...
