Link Steam account. POE2

Day one would not allow me to link my steam account. So I just logged in with steam so I could play and created an account with steam. Can you link the two accounts and transfer the things from this account to steam?

Sent 2 emails now both have been returned with this message;

"Delivery incomplete
There was a temporary problem delivering your message to support@grindinggear.com. Gmail will retry for 23 more hours. You'll be notified if the delivery fails permanently.

The response was:

Should I just continue to send emails and hope for the best or what can we do?

I understand that there is a big wave of support cases now.
The problem is that these emails comes back 1 day after I sent an email..

But can I use the ingame points that I got with the purchase of the game on Steam?
My account here is having a different amount and I bought other items from the shop here that should be transferred, just worried that either it can't merge or that I might have to give up my character or the stuff I bought here on this account..
I sent an email 12 days ago and no reply. Any work on when someone will get be able to help?
