Chayula ascension disappointed

Well, of course it is early in the game and I'm no theorycrafting genious but so far I am disappointed with chayula monk.

One of the things that was appealing is the purple flames, you get stackable buff up to 10. But here is the troll part: Each flame spawns every 1.33 seconds and EACH stack has it's OWN duration so unless there is a late game mechanic or gem combination this is impossible to stack 10. Even if you get the "double duration" node.

I will just stick to mana leech + chaos innoculation see how it works.

Also, can you reserve darkness for auras? Anyone knows
