Playing on 2 separate rigs, 2 similar errors.
PC: 13th Gen Intel i7-13700K 3.40 GHz, 32.0 GB RAM, RTX 3080ti, Windows 11 Version 23H2 (Unplayable) Platform: Steam, Standalone launcher Issue: Cannot load into any instance after character selection, game instantly crashes to desktop. Metadata/Characters/Int/IntFourb 2024/12/07 09:28:06 606722640 d5a32775 [CRIT Client 744] Failed to decompress (corrupted data) 2nd Issue: Laptop: Intel i9-14900HX 2.20 GHz, 16.0 GB RAM, laptop RTX 4070, Windows 11 version 23H2 (Game is somewhat playable) Platform: Steam Issue: Cannot move between instances without crashing, but can reload game into the new instance (almost like OG logout is faster than teleporting but not lol) I can play an entire map without crashing, but when I zone it crashes every time. Troubleshooting steps: Checked/updated drivers Reinstalled game Tested both Steam/Standalone Verified files on steam Dropped all settings to lowest possible, tried all render (vulkan causes instant crash) I'm not a computer andy so I'm hoping this summary of information is somewhat valuable. " Hello. I was looking on how to solve some other performance issues with my game and stumbled upon your post. I work as a web developer but I am not at all an expert in PoE or stuff like that. Still, here are my 2 cents on it: - first error seems like it's something related to a cosmetic you have - second error I think it's the same... something related to whirling blades I think - 3rd error, decompression one is not uncommon for 13th and 14th gen Intel CPUs So I would try to turn off any cosmetics for the time being. Then you can try the following - In Windows -> Control Panel -> Power Options -> Change plan settings on the one you have selected, and go to *Processor Power Management*, then lower the Maximum processor rate by a bit - If it doesn't work, go into BIOS and you can try: -- Make sure you have the latest BIOS version -- Disable Turbo mode -- Make sure you have XMP mode enabled for your RAM -- You can lower the CPU clock multiplier by 2-3 points and check again. If still crashes, do it again down to ~50x or something. -- Disable any Overclocking settings you might have on. For fixing the decompression error and more details, check this thread on the forum https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3408111/page/1 CAUTION The causes listed above are just assumptions and might be totally different from what I said - The suggested fixes are not necessarily the solutions and it's not 100% sure they'll work. - If you are not familiar with Advanced BIOS settings, you shouldn't play with them at all (or maybe not too much 😊) - A failed/interrupted BIOS update might permanently damage your motherboard. - Some BIOS settings my have different names depending on your MB and BIOS type and version, but the concepts are the same. i had to download a new bios for my i7-13700 and it fixed the issue. its a widely known issue with a 5 year warranty now on the chip. should be able to find some walkthroughs

" Hey sorry for the delayed response I've been out of town for work so I wasn't able to follow the advice. So I reduced my max processor power to 95% and changed to vulkan and now it works on the PC. Loading screens and stuff seem slower? than on my laptop but overall we're back in business! Thanks for taking the time to post some potential solutions, you are a real G. |
