Same issue for me, I see on reddit this is a known problem for some players as well.
I think this is only not well known because a lot of people havent gotten to act 3 yet. |

Reinstalling the game solves the problem

I have the same issue on my main. Loading in at Act 3 Gorilla Boss in Jungle Ruins triggers a buffer underflow exception which crashes the game. Apparently one player reported the issue fixed itself after the server area instance reset after circa 15mins.

I have the same issue but in the Infested barrens.

I'm getting this issue of crashing upon entering the jungle ruins too, but I can login to my character and travel to other locations.

The same issue just happened to me, in Act 3 Cruel Jungle Ruins. I tried the following:
* logging in 4-5 times * changing my renderer from DirectX12 to Vulkan * changing the renderer back * selecting my other character, exiting to character selection, then selecting the crashing character * closing other expensive processes on my computer (browser, discord) Each time, after selecting my character I crashed on the Jungle Ruins zone loading screen similar to the top post. For what it's worth, I had this issue begin about thirty minutes after the most recent patch, but that's also when I entered Jungle Ruins, so it could be a coincidence. I'm going to open a support ticket as well and I'll update this thread if I find a solution, or if GGG are nice enough to teleport my character to the Infested Barrens or something. |

SOLUTION: Uninstalling and reinstalling the game solved the problem for me.
Repairing (an alternate option on the uninstaller) may also fix the problem, but I tend not to trust repair tools as much as just uninstalling and reinstalling myself. I suspect that the patcher is bugged, because: * this only became a problem for me after the patch; I was in a3 jungle ruins earlier today on the same character * it makes sense that reinstalling would fix the issue if the patcher is bugged, as I effectively manually repaired all the files; eliminating whatever corrupted file patching had caused * see my earlier post for all the conventional "solutions" I tried which held the game files as constant instead Hopefully GGG looks into this! For now, I hope this post helps people in the same boat. |
