Using my POE account for Couch co op

I have just discovered that my wife started playing poe2 on our Xbox and wanted to play couch co op with her. When I used my second controller it asked for me to sign in my Xbox account in which I did and got to make our character without any issues.

Now when we was finished with the game we closed it like normal but I thought of checking my character out so I started the game up on my account but when it came to the main menu it was going right to the character creation screen again.

Can we not link both our Poe accounts for couch co op? As the is seem like this has been missed when wanting to play this type of game since my Microsoft account is already linked to my Poe account.

Is there plans for this to be changed or do I need to create a character from scratch just for single player games?

@TheStebe#4468 I have the same question.

This "issue" exists on PlayStation as well.

I have DM'ed GGG on "X" and posted in the PlayStation section of the forum. No responses at this point...
This is my one dissapointment with POE 2. I'm stuck playing on the pc, not getting to relax next to my wife playing the game, all because we can't log into our seperate accounts on the same console. Diablo 4 did this. I know it's possible.
Just came here to say the same thing on PlayStation 5!
My wife is on her PlayStation account, but it’s only loading my characters, not her witch on her PlayStation in the other room.
Same here. Trying to shift to POE2 from D4 but can’t until my BF and I can couch co-op using our separate accounts. We need to play together in the same and separate locations.
I am also really wanting this feature and was disappointed that it was not in at EA launch. I hope we can get an update or idea of when this might be implemented.I really want to be able to login to two accounts at once from different profiles for coop.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I think this is likely due to the fact that PoE1 and PoE2 share some backend systems / databases. The same can be said about character naming, and how each and every one has to be unique, but, Blizzard allows you to use any name you want over and over, probably because the BNET ID is integrated with the character name. This seems like an oversight, but could cause problems with PoE1 if they really are using some of the same backend.

But, this is the place for feedback, so, here's to hoping it is something they can accommodate!
