Does the Mac Version of the Game Work?
Hi everyone, I’m thinking about downloading the game on Steam for my MacBook, but I’m not sure if the Mac version works properly. I don’t want to waste 100 GB if it won’t run on my system. Has anyone tried it on a Mac? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Last bumped on Dec 14, 2024, 1:22:01 PM

They said no Mac for EA launch.... so your guess is as good as ours.

POE 1 has a Mac version, POE2 does not. I am going to test when servers go live if you can play using CrossOver to download STEAM and run POE2 in the STEAM Bottle. I tested it for POE1 and it worked great, here is hoping ti works on POE2.

I just managed to run PoE2 on MacOS M1 Pro. Follow https://www.poewiki.net/wiki/Guide:Path_of_Exile_on_Mac_using_Windows_Client. I'm using Kegworks. The same way I was playing PoE 1. My backup plan is GeForce NOW.

Just did PaOmi's suggestion and it works. Image quality isn't great, but the framerate is.
Will definitely switch over when a Mac client is launched, but for now this works really well! |

I have gotten it to work through Crossover by downloading the Windows installer file, creating a bottle for Windows 10 64 BIT and installing the Windows version. I had turned on D3DMetal and ESync (which are the settings in Crossover that get Diablo IV and Diablo Immortal to work, both of which require DirectX 12) and it runs fine.
But would also like to know if the Mac version that is on Steam works properly. |
