Confusion around PS5 and PC cross-progression
I play POE on both PC and PS5 currently. So I have a PC account and a playstation account.
I am going to buy the early access key. I have many stash tabs on both accounts, bought separately. I want to understand whether I can buy the key for just one and play on both, or do I need to buy the key on both(since sony is not allowing purchases to be used across platform and vice-versa)? If I buy on PS5, I'll be able to use all my PS5 tabs and play early access, but will I be able to play that account in early access on PC as well? Can I progress on the PS5, then head to the PC and pick up where I left off? Last bumped on Dec 15, 2024, 5:19:55 PM

they have already stated nothing from sony will transfer over.
and no cross progression. Separate economy/severs |

That's not what cross progression means.
Cross progression is that you can have an account on PC and log into that same account on PS5 and have access to all of your characters and stuff. It doesn't do anything for two separate accounts. |

" Sorry for the previous replies. Psn is NOT transferable to PC. I’ve found absolutely no way to even connect my PSN account to my pc account. MTX does not transfer and as far as I’m concerned there is no cross progression either. Best advice is to just don’t purchase ANYTHING. This is what you get from a FREE game. GGG failed to transfer MTX to PC from PSN which is why blizzard and Diablo 4 will more than likely win the player base in the long run as they’ve always done. |

Hi. I missed something? It seems that GGG declared the implementation of cross-progression.

early access key only applies to the platform u buy it on.
you can link you ps5 account and play same characters, but you need to buy second EA key on ps5, etc. Surprise! Last edited by sempuken#7215 on Dec 6, 2024, 4:00:19 AM

You can link your GGG account to your PSN account by going into the POE website -> Account -> Manage Account -> Secondary Login -> Sony.
GGG has said there would be character cross-login and cross-progrssion, but it works a little weird with PSN, where your PSN characters is in a different "sub account" than your PC characters. There is an interview where Jonathan explained it, but it was honstly a bit hard to follow.... Obviously MTX is separate, so you would need to get an EA key on each platform. I'm sure there will be videos up on Friday or Saturday explaining all this. |

PSN don't allow mtx transfert, but the game is still cross play ans cross progression. During EA you have to buy keys for both platform if you wanna play PS and pc because keys grants access only to the platform you purchased them to.
It's the same economy and servers no matter you play on ps,pc or Xbox. Last edited by junyko#9840 on Dec 6, 2024, 5:51:20 AM

" So based on this understanding, I went in and linked my Sony account to my GGG account, now there are two options for account selection. So I take this to mean that I purchase 2 keys, one for each sub account like so: 1) PS5Account - Go on Sony store and buy key. 2) GGGAccount - Go through GGG and buy key. Now I should be able to play each respective account on either system? (With the caveat being that previously purchased MTX (stash tabs) will be unavailable/hidden on opposing systems.) This is certainly cross-play/cross-progression, as I can play my PS5 account on my PC, then hop over to some couch co-op with my partner on the console using that same character/account. It definitely is inconvenient not having all the tabs available while not on the native console, but it is what it is. Based on all the stuff I've read, I thought the economies and servers will absolutely all be merged into 1 single entity, as opposed as to how it is currently where Sony has its own trade, and PC has its own trade. Any evidence for the opposing statement Clam-Whisperer? |

GGG said that POE2 would have cross progression and it does. But POE1 does not have cross progression and GGG have no plans to implement it.
You can still link your PSN and POE account here on the website. Just go to your account management. Click on your account name in the top left then 'Manage Account' on the right column. That will prepare you for POE2 cross progression and cross play but that's it. |
