Character Slots

Did they mention if character slots are shared between POE1 and POE2? Trying to understand if I need to buy a slot for tomorrow or not. Thanks in advance!

POE2 is not tied to POE1 other than MTX, different game different client, different everything. So with that assumption you should start with new character slots

It feels like a gray area because character slots are a microtransaction (MTX) and those are shared across both games. That's why I'm curious. I can't seem to find anything that says anything either way about it.

Oh didnt think of the extra character slots people may have purchased from POE1. You might have to send a ticket to support and ask them. But you honestly will probably find out sooner when you can log in (figured they are swamped right now).
I could honestly see it going either way. Because POE2 itself is not tied to POE1 and those character slots were purchased for POE1 characters they might not transfer over. But because they are technically a microtransaction the could be sent over with the MTXs. Either way I think POE2 will have a set number of slots everyone is going to get to play, so you shouldn't have to buy a slot of make a character on POE2 |

I just deleted almost all my POE1 characters .. just in case...

It seems unlikely to me that they would be shared. After all, how would you free up character slots from one game while playing the other? You really couldn't. You'd want to have the ability to remove gear and such and that would require you to log out of one game and possibly have to install the other and log in just to free up character slots? Doesn't seem like a good idea.
I think it would make the most sense that either your extra slots apply to both games separately or you must buy them separately, but each have their own base amount of character slots. Well, we will find out in a day... |

If I had to guess, you will start with an empty character list and if you had bought character slot MTX in PoE that will increase your max in PoE2 as well.
No idea what will be correct though. |
