Never played POE or any other ARPG, going into POE2 blind and can’t wait!
Hey everyone,
Sweaty FPS gamer here, for as long as I can remember. Introduced to CS 1.6 and its downhill from there to CS:GO to R6 to Valorant. Outside of FPS games, my other gaming experience has mostly been no lifing Warframe and Destiny 2 roughly 5-6k hours on each. I’ve never really gotten into ARPGs like PoE or Diablo before, but the hype around PoE 2 has me super excited to finally try this genre! My goal is to experience the game as blindly as possible, though I'm not sure how far I can go without any help. That said, if (or when) I give up on going blind - I’m looking for reliable sources of information that don’t feel too much like handholding. Something similar to the Warframe Wiki (for anyone familiar with that) detailed, reliable, but not spoiler-heavy. Any suggestions or tips for starting out in PoE without overwhelming myself would be greatly appreciated! Looking forward to joining this amazing community. 😊 Last bumped on Dec 5, 2024, 3:58:59 AM

When PoE 1 released, it take years for poe.wiki / poe.db to compile and give alot of detailed information regarding game mechanics and the game itself.
Despite Jonathan said that Path of Exile 2 will be better in this regard, the game will provide much more important / crucial information from in-game, I suspect that players still need outside source of information to understand the game. Best thing I can suggest is that you join a community, be it a discord, a guild, a content creator community, anything you can find. And keep an eye to wiki or db website, as they haven't really established for PoE 2. Don't read fextralife or wikifandom, the information they provide is really really bad especially for game like Path of Exile. |

You will be fine. Just have fun and know that your first characters will fail.
You learn as you play and thats part of the fun. poe wiki is good source to know how things work and interact. But it propably takes time untill its up and ready for poe2. If you get totally overwhelmed then google some build guides. |

I'm also a newbie as I started to play POE just a few months ago and loving it and just learning stuff.
Now, I'm going to be a part of EA POE2 and I am so hyped about it. |
