Linking Sony to PC account (Problem)
Hi,
So I had a problem linking my Sony account to my PC on official PoE website. I was receiving this message. '' You must complete the unlock process before continuing'' So after a couple a day I remembered that I don't have any email connected to my Sony account in the PoE official website. So I tried to put the same email that my PC account have (the same email as my Sony account) but I did receive the same message. '' You must complete the unlock process before continuing'' So I put an another email that I have create only to link it for my PoE Sony account. And now I receive this message when trying to link my Sony acccount in my PC account. ''You cannot merge two accounts with the same login methods'' I don't know why and I know there a lot of people right now asking question and everyone is excited right now for the release of PoE2 but why it's so complicated ? Just wanna be able to link my Sony account to be able to play sometime on my PS5 Pro. Wanna get tasted by my scythe !? Last bumped on Dec 19, 2024, 12:46:10 PM

" Hello, your first error message means that you have triggered the security system and need to unlock the account with the unlock code sent to you. Can you please try logging into the standalone client to complete this process? For the second error message, it sounds like you may have multiple accounts that you are trying to merge together that have the same login methods. Unfortunately you can only merge together distinct login methods (e.g. you cannot connect or merge two Sony PlayStation accounts, or two email addresses). If you continue to experience any issues with this please contact us at support@grindinggear.com so we can look into this further for you! Need help? Contact Support :)

Hi Lisa,
thanks for the fast response. I tried logging into the game with my PS5 account didn't receive any code. For the Sony account I have put an email because I was thinking it was because of that I was unable to link my account into the PC account. So if I understand I have to log into my PC account to unlock the process and now that I have a email in the Sony account I will not be able to link the account ? Can I remove the email !? Or I have to send a ticket to GGG support to erase this email !? Thanks Wanna get tasted by my scythe !?

" Hello Lisa, I am receiving a similar error, 'You cannot merge two accounts with the same login methods' when I try to merge my GGG account with my Steam account. I'm not sure what you mean when you say this error occurs when trying to merge accounts that are already linked. Currently, I have zero Steam accounts linked. By the way, changing the email linked to both Steam and GGG does not solve the issue. I wrote to support 10 days ago and haven't received a response. I was having the same problem...
Had a GGG account from way back when. Merged it to a Steam account in 2020. Uninstalled PoE proper install and only played from Steam install. Fast forward to PoE 2, can't connect XBL or PSN due to locked account, but no issues signing in to PoE or PoE2 from Steam. To fix this I installed the PoE PC installer from GGG directly, logged in with my email address, and boom - locked account message with a new email to unlock. After this, all was well and I was able to link XBL and PSN as expected. Went ahead and deleted the non-Steam PoE install to go back to using Steam for my PC... Hope this helps |
