Accidentally gave a friend my Steam Client Key - can I rectify by taking his?
|
Hey,
I did a dumdum. In all my excitement I gave my friend my steam client key rather than the early access key. He redeemed it, then I noticed the nicely written line "don't give this away, it's not the early access key". Now question, I gave him a correct key to redeem and that worked. He got a steam client key in his early access info page. Is it okay if I take his steam key now or is this steam key somehow linked to a steam account and did I royally fuck up? Hi there, we aren't able to assist with account-related issues over the forums. Could you please email us at support@grindinggear.com so we can look into this matter for you? We are currently working through a very large number of requests, so please bear with us as we'll try to get to you as soon as we can.

Hey Cameron,
Thanks for your feedback, I did as you said and already got feedback from Rob from Grinding Gear Games! It is indeed just a client key and it is okay for it to be "switched". I'm posting this feedback here so that in case someone else makes the same mistake, they can see it is okay. Good luck on the launch, peace! |

Happened to me as well. It doesn’t matter anyway, since your friend won’t have access either. He had to buy a copy of the game.
