Poe 2 ASWD and skill hotkey

Honest question -
I've seen the announcement trailer and some gameplay videos that have been released with early access and I still don't understand it.

How come people are using aswd as a move when W is still used as a skill hotkey?
I understand that the mouse movement is still active, but if you've played the released tests, doesn't that affect the gameplay?

this actually bothered me too i saw them use wasd and they had skill binds on w for example also i thought while on paper it sounds amazing you can use wasd to move but that also means extra 4 buttons you need push all the time for any build you do? that doesnt sound amazing they had like 5-6 active skills+wasd thats like 9-10 button smashing

I think the way they are going to get around this is the fact that combat seems so much slower. Bosses seem almost souls like with dodge rolling, blocking, etc...
If they had skills bound to w maybe they had wasd movement assigned to other keys?

Also re button mashing I think you'd be surprised how much tactile stress is being relieved by having only two flasks.

flakss werent issue past day 2 for me i had them already auto using
I think that for heavy use of WASD and using skills while moving you would have to map few skills to additional mouse buttons.

On the other hand even if for most people this will be worse but for someone it works better, than having the option is a good thing.
It seems that the only way to know will be in the early test then.

True but from a game design pov having the potential to automate 5 flasks is quite different to explicitly having two buttons only assigned to flasks.

My other thought is poe2 builds will vary but I imagine most will boil down to a finite number (say 2 or 3) active skills you use frequently and some (say 2 or 3) you use infrequently on top of stuff like curses/warcries/etc.

Anyway like others said we'll see.
