POE 2 EA Ascendacy question
Hey all,
maybe I'm dumb but after yesterday's stream it doesn't seem clear to me how many ascendancy nodes we'll be able to earn overall - is it only 2 major perks for now, since it's only 2 type of trials and the plan is to have 3 trial runs overall (no matter the type you do) to end up with 3 major ascendancy nodes instead of 4 like in POE1? Also what's up with Blood Mage ascendancy tree, it looked like you always have to get the same first node judging from the screenshot of the tree on stream. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198005676976/ Last bumped on Nov 23, 2024, 6:09:36 AM

From rewatching, I think both the Trial of Maraketh has 4 floors and they said about the Ultimatum Trial you will see 3 bosses + final boss.
So my guess is 8 points, just like regulard PoE but they haven't confirmed it 100%. |

Ah I see, that definitely makes sense - I would expect that if we are to have less points to allocate ascendancy trees would also be trimmed to lesser number, which isn't the case. Thanks!

" You do. Jonathan confirmed this: "All blood mages must pay the price of making spells cost life as well as mana." That first node is what gives the Blood Mage the ability to gather Life Remnants as well, via the 'Life Remnants' skill. And because Life Remnants is a skill, it will be fully supportable. Remember, any Ascendancy node that grants a skill - such as the Chronomancer's Time Stop, the Infernalist's Demon Form or Hellhound, the Pathfinder's Concoctions, and the like - provide an additional skill slot in the panel which can take support gems to enhance or modify their effects. |

Looking at the trees we get 2 more points than in PoE1, so my guess is 8 points, like PoE1.
For me more interesting is how we can split our runs. They said we can mix and match trails, and we will get 3 in the release. I wonder if that means you can run the first floor from each trial and get 6 points and then finish it off with second floor of whichever you prefer. If so, that would make it not really that challenging to get full ascendancy. EDIT: Not that it's difficult to get full ascension in PoE1 anyways, lol. But you know what I mean. Also, one other thing - from my understanding you get the first 2 points in act 2, then the next 2 in act 3, then when they add act 4 and the trial there it will be another 2 points and they did show the "endgame trials" so I'm assuming we will get another 2 points there. So 8 total. But what I'm curious is if you skip the 2 points in act 2, can you just do the act 3 trial twice and get the points from there? Also, since there's no act 4 yet, i expect the 3rd set of 2 points to be when you repeat act 2 and do the trial then maybe?

" In fact I prefer this new model since you do not need to "search" for the trials in maps. So you can plan and know exactly when you are going to make the final ascension. For me the ẗemple of trials concept of POE 2 also feels better connected to the lore. |

By what I understood.. your only limitation are the items that open the path for you, as the Djin coins.. SO you could run EVERYTHING in the temple at act 2 for example
