lab is even worse in poe2...
I like the choices for ascension so far. Very thematic for being a trial. I just hope the other option(s?) won't be build on already existing mechanics.

" no once it is released - it is too late. in fact, this is already too late so deep into development but once it is released - no way anything changes. i do not understand people who ask others to stop providing feedback. these people are GGG (potential) customers - they provide feedback to GGG, not you as for me - idgaf about poe2, wont be playing anytime soon. mostly because i do not believe the game they release in 6months will be polished enough to play and i will happily let others beta test it for me the entire 'we cannot merge poe and poe2 together because reasons' sounds strange when all these reasons were created by the very people complaining. and the same people are now making the new game i wonder how it will pan out once the 'new shiny' effect wears out btw - sanctum on a melee character can be done, but it is infinitely more challenging than one of the (literally) 4 runner builds our there (srs, totem, bama, hexblast). and while you will make it ONCE - it relies HEAVILY on rng: bene-fountain rng, affliction rng and most importantly - room rng. bad arena+trap room on a melee build without inspiration cushion and less damage taken from traps? cool, start over. relics ofc help, but bad rng and you are done. ive done my share of sanctums, melee - even with 50m dps - is just horrid for this content. and while doable EVENTUALLY, it is shit choice for mandatory part of progression. i guess they will neuter it do the ground or something? because Joe Nobody playing Shield Crush wont be ascending anytime soon if the sanctum is even remotely left as is |

" No it isn't, Sanctum is a joke beyond a certain damage threshold and 50m is vastly beyond it, 5m will let you gib pretty much everything the whole time. Its horrible for getting original sin, but that is already a straightline cheese anyway most ranged skills are garbage at that too. I can't really see how doing 3 trialmaster stages is gonna be worse than lab guys its just gonna be fast and easy, i really think this thread is overly negative - what did you want to ascend just bop one irrelevant boss? Looks to me like GGG is doubling down on "Get good or get rekt" and I'm all about it. Ranged/evasive builds can ascend with sanctum, tanky CQC builds can ascend with Ultimatum, bad builds can ascend when they hit level ninety.
Or buy a carry like they used to have to do for the uberlab XD. I genuinely can't wait for the complaint threads to pop up when people brick their entire atlas and have to start over with tier one maps because they can't stop dying with terrible glass cannon builds. It's going to be excellent. |

" it is going to be excellent for a certain group of people, namely - not financially invested into POE2 people who are - like GGG - are most likely dreading this type of scenario because what is fun for some, is a straight financial loss for them there is a reason why POE got dumbed down over recent years (the difficulty has been moved FAR into endgame) and there is a reason why certain cheeze leveling stats remain despite everyone knowing how dumb they are. POE2 wont be making the game dumb difficult - not when they are not CERTAIN they can make id Elden Ring-like right. if the difficulty is stupid and unfair - aka loss on the character selection screen - it is a big no-no for a game that costed 10s if not 100s of millions to develop and is directly competing with POE for a share of an already small potential playerbase so you will find it fun, GGG wont oh and Sanctum with 50m as melee is not auto win. the problem is that with melee you are CERTAIN to get hit - not by bosses, but by chaff here and there. it adds up. few bad afflictions and lack of good ones and your pool of mistakes gets surprisingly small. one benevolent fountain at floor 3 typically suffices, but if you dont have +2 room relics (and most people wont) it is easy to miss one or get there via a path that also gives you concrete sandals or some other shit so yeah, i wont see people ascending with their Shield Crush in current sanctum, not on a first or fifth try. theyll have to nerf it and by a lot Last edited by sidtherat#1310 on Nov 22, 2024, 7:51:14 AM

I like Lab I see no problem here, plus the fact they give you 2 ways in EA to complete it super good so dont be afraid.

people need to pay attention to what is actually required.
You do not require a full sanctum run. It's just one floor. You do not require a full ultimatum run. It's just the first 3 rooms and the boss. The ascendancy is just a basic introduction course into the End game mechanics. |
