Can't Log In

I was selling stuff on the auction house. Tried clicking on some scarabs, the game said "retrieving information", after awhile I decided to put the currency in my inventory into stash then try again. It still said "retrieving information", I decided to log out and back in, now I can't log back into game. A full reboot will get me to char select, but once I pick a char it says "operation timed out" and from that point on any attempt to get back into game just gives me an "operation timed out" message within 2-3 seconds.

I'm getting the same thing. I can get to Character screen, and it occasionally shows all my Settlers/Necro Settlers characters as <Unknown> league.

I just get kicked back to the login screen with the same error you do, any league. Steam just applied an update before I successfully got on for 1 map.
