Characters disappeared after choosing a sub account

Good afternoon, after combining the accounts, I logged into xbox, chose another sub account and all the characters on both pc and xbox disappeared and I can't change them back

Having the same problem, I just emailed support to see if they can restore the character, I still see them on my account but not in the Steam game launcher.

im using the standalone client but my sub account characters are still missing but my steam ones are back :/

Same. I've been playing PSN lately as I've no PC to play it on. I logged on to the website using my PC login to merge my subaccounts (Steam, Epic, PSN and Xbox) then launched PoE on my PS5 so I could check out my characters from other platforms, but each sub account I selected made me create a new character as if I was starting the game from scratch. All my characters are inaccessible!

I just had a conversation with support and they alluded to the fact that Xbox sub accounts will not show in steam or the standalone client because POE 1 is not cross play. I am able to see my PC account characters on Xbox though and able to play it so not entirely sure what’s going on. They did mention in a blog post that you would not be able to play Xbox sub accounts on PC
