PoE freezes Computer when transitioning zones

Hey there,

running windows 11 - rtx 3060 on an i7 8700k ... for the longest time all was fine ... but either something with patching is srsly wrong or the windows update killed something....

I tried playing the recent League .... but going from one zone to another zone sometimes work... and sometimes freezes my COMPLETE Computer. I can harldy move my mouse ... not task manager or anything shows up ....

I dont know whats wrong :( ... just wanna play the Event but its no fun that if I wanna go to the next zone or map ... PC crashes and I have to turn it off the hard way....

This is a common problem with 24H2 it seems. Can you try turning off Game Mode in Windows? It seems to have helped me
thank you ... as of now it seems it helped... I will later check it again
i have the same issue, i did what raye said and it worked for me for about 2 hours. then same sh1t again.

did it work for you shinwa?
yes no problems here :) .. seems it was indeed the Game Mode ....

have u tried updating your graphics driver ?
Dang, I thought it was just me and my CPU crashing or something. Going to try turning off Game Mode and see if that works.

Get stuck on the loading screen and can move my mouse around with a delay but cannot even open task manager or the Windows start menu using the Windows key on my keyboard.

Cannot alt-tab out. Have been having to hard shut down my computer using the power button.

AMD 5600x-(Tried turning PBO off didnt help), 32gb of RAM XMP 3200, RTX 4060, Crucial 2tb NVME SSD. Latest graphics driver, no overclock. Tried re-installing GPU drivers, turning the Nvidia and Steam overlays off. Nothing has worked.
@shin, yeah sure that wasnt the problem either.

i read a bit more about it and found a solution for me.

i downloaded BES CPU Limiter, limited POE to 98% and since that poe never froze my PC
I can confirm, was having this exact issue during event launch and was pulling my hair out. Tried literally everything. I eventually installed an earlier version of w11 23h2 and I've not had a crash since.

I was lucky enough that my PC was freshly built with a new OS so didn't lose anything by reinstalling, but good luck reinstalling on an older PC.
I've had the same problems you had, turned off the game mode thingy will test again.
no freezing happened after disabling the game mode thx man
