Betrayal (Jun) in maps

I haven't played for a while, but I can't find a way to block Betrayal in maps anymore. That means that often times when you get an Intervention you have two options when pushing content; brick the map or die. Now, I know.. Git gud and all that. I just don't understand the reason for not being able to block Betrayal from the Atlas when you can block Breach, Abyss, Expedition, Harvest, Legion, Heist, Delirium, Ultimatum, Blight and Ritual.
I thought the entire point was to give people advocacy over how maps were run - not just have random encounters of strong mobs just going to town on you. I don't know about you, but I personally like to get wined and dined before I get f--ked. I'm pretty sure you received similar feedback when Betrayal was first introduced and you slaughtered tons of hardcore characters this way.

What changed?

You've never been able to block Betrayal (nor Incursion, Bestiary, or Delve).
Must just be my confirmation bias then, because it's like every other map I have Intervention happening where I get chased down by 2-3 of those badboys.

Yes you never could block any of the 4 masters completely. Only thing that changed since last season is you can now guarantee them in your map without master missions or compasses.
You can reduce the occurrence by unblocking or forcing other mechanics though.

Blocking mechanics increases the chances of unblocked/unblockable mechanics.

Forcing multiple mechanics to spawn can push out any additional unwanted mechanics. There is no hard cap to the number of league mechanics per map, but maps only have room for a unspecified number of the in-map objects they create. If your map is full of forced objects, it will likely not spawn betrayal, which has objects that require a ton of map space.

There's no way to block Betrayal, but the best advice I can give you is take some time out to sabotage the spawns in your favor. Put the weakest Syndicate members in Intervention (ex. Guff and Haku) so you can beat them easily and then ignore. Make sure nobody you put on the job has friends/enemies with other members so they don't get helped.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.

Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build!

MFers found strength in their Afflictions. They became reliant on them. I am not so foolish.

The way to block Betrayal during its own league was to max out intelligence for the Transportation, Fortification, and Intervention safehouses, and just never run Research or any of the safehouses.

You might be able to max out all 4 now due to Atlas passives (random intelligence on completing a map), and just never run the safehouses.

That's genius, actually. I used to love Betrayal back when we could farm things like Pure Breachstones by upgrading normals with It That Fled, but GGG has made it so Mastermind is the only valuable thing to farm. I hate having to rebuild the syndicate board, so I just gave up on the master mission completely.

I'll have to try this next league.

The reason you could block it before was that before Necropolis you could only have 1 Master ( Einhar, Alva, Jun, or Niko ) on the map so if you were using your atlas or scarabs to boost one specifically basically it would have blocked the rest of them
You can take that node that blocks all masters.
