Do we need character death in softcore league?

Do we?

There is no softcore league so technically you've got your wish since you can't die in a game mode that doesn't exist.
On a serious note, Standard/League Players have been requesting easy-mode for a long time now as an additional game-mode, I doubt to the extremes that death would be removed however, exp loss perhaps though even that might be wishful thinking.
