Would you play this?
New event:
!! UNTOUCHABLE ROULETTE !! - ssf - the game does not have or drop skill gems - you only get your starting skill gem - every 10 levels you get 1 new random skill gem (gem lvl bracket 1-12 at 10, 1-18 at 20, 1-28 at 30, 1-34 at 40 and repeating till lvl 100) - nessa sells every single support gem (1-38) starting at act 1, for 1 wisdom. - nessa sells every skill gem that you have unlocked, so you can make single target, aoe, trigger setups, level multiple gems at once to later corrupt them etc. Additional rules: - every time you take a hit from dmg that reduces your mana, life, es, or block a attack, projectile, spell, or aoe, you get 1 point added to a counter that's visible in the corner. - players who reach lvl 100 first with the least hits taken win. This makes things really interesting, because even if you start late or play slow, if someone makes it to ladder position top 10 with 1000 hits taken, you can still take them over and push them down the ladder by reaching the same level they are, but with less hits taken! The game prints system messages for every move in the top 10 ladder, checking when someone levels up, among all players of that level, and if their hit pool is the lowest among the competing players: "Bob has taken position #8 at lvl 65 with 500 hits!" The fun is in not knowing if you get the skill gems you want, and have to make due with what you are given. Creativity and game knowledge pays off. You can also risk it and restart, if you want to reroll and start again, in case you reached lvl 30 or 40 and not gotten any good gems. Yes, there will be a ton of ranged builds, minions, totems traps, heavy evasion builds, but so what? It's the theme of this race, it is a special event. I think it would be extremely interesting and fun to watch people play, what is their short or long term plan, will they succeed, do they have good or bad rng, every 10 lvl ups a nice unboxing thrill... which skill will it be?? Will they restart? How fast do they go, how many hits are they willing to take? I think one week would be a good running time for this. And every level 60 is in a raffle for a mtx box, and 80 is a guaranteed one. Rewards are open to change. You could run this once every month. Would be really fun and you know it. A little side action for people, for fun, get that mtx, explore new builds, get dopamine from hitting lucky gems, watch streamers speedrun, do something else if you are bored with the main league grind. Try it out. Last bumped on Oct 9, 2024, 7:07:38 AM

Adjustments...
Since there's over 200 skill gems, it would be a bit harsh to have a fully random draw. People would just restart too often to get what they want. Maybe add a drop weight that favors your class theme. For example marauder has 600 for str gems, 500 for str/dex, 400 str/int, 300 dex, 200 dex/int and 100 int. Lower value means less likely to spawn. Same for every class, but with attributes in respect to that class theme.
Every gauntlet idea from both you and the devs is so hilariously anti-melee that I'm not sure if you guys are joking anymore or seriously just hate melee.
"lol just don't get hit bro" "lol just don't let the enemies get on screen bro" Which means you need to over compensate with broken mechanics like a bajillion ES pool and broken trickster recovery mechanics. The life-based builds performed hilariously poorly (as expected) this gauntlet. I'll chime in with my anti-mele gauntlet idea along with yours. - monsters get 10 extra projectiles - each projectile gets 500% of physical damage as extra damage as chaos and all elements toget6her - each projectile hit applies wither - wither lasts forever - each projectile hit disables all recovery Streamer POE community: "is this what they call a challenge?" If ARPG challenge devolves into "don't ever get hit", then it completely jumped the shark. Last edited by mnieradko on Oct 8, 2024, 11:51:52 AM

What I suggested here is a stand alone thing, a event, a mod, something special for fun.
If you don't like it then don't play it? Think about a more extreme example: "Witches only" or "Marauders only" or "Players have 100% more attack speed, life, dmg, movement speed, all res, regen, etc." It's about FUN, something DIFFERENT. Short run time, a week. Once a month. Shuffle the rules and conditions. Creative stuff. All the last races events and gauntlets have been all just "ssf, hc, and with 500% lethal mods, more projectiles enemy aoe dmg etc." to make it very challenging and race against time. You missed the point now. Don't compare these two.
Cool, then here's my creative idea. I'll call it the "hug the monsters" gauntlet. If you start launching attacks/spells at a monster, and you are not in "close range" to that monster, your character automatically dies.
That's it. It will be a nice change of pace to the horrible anti-melee themes constantly shown in this game.
Good start, let's flesh it out:
You get points for hitting monsters based on distance, the further you are the more points you lose, a fall off just like point blank node has it for dmg. So even ancestral call will cause a big inefficiency in reaching top scores, and everyone is encouraged to find the most melee aoe builds and make them go fast. I like it.
No.
Its obvious that somth like TS users will win that with easy.
forgotten event:
each day the game will do a check to see all skills usage and increase/decrease their power based on usage. gems with less than 0.05% usage will have a boost of 100%. for every % usage above 0.05% reduce gem performance by 1% up to 2.5-3% usage with a 80% reduction. to clarify gems will have between +100% performance (less than 0.05% usage) up to -80% performance (2.5/3% usage). let's see how creative people can be when creating non meta builds. self found league fan
