Influencing Scarab of Conversion
Influencing Scarab of Conversion
Played and completed about 20 T16 maps some also influenced onces All rare and quant > 100% tried to optimize my Atlas for maps added the map scarab for more map chance for every mod fragments for more Quant in summary do all I found out to optimize my chances I got not one special map from all runs bad luck of course the Scarab has two disadvantages: only T14+ maps get the chance what "higher" means is not described it could even be only a +0,01% chance you dont know it and even if it works the influenced map result is still random so its use is very limited in my opinion can you at least tell the chance in the Scarab description when all maps would be T14+? maybe the scarab could also get a +1 for all T1-T15 maps for example or a higher chance it works more often Last bumped on Oct 22, 2024, 10:34:15 AM

There literally is a tooltip.
The scarab rolls one type of map (shaper, elder, conquerer, synthesis) and a conversion %-chance somewhere between 15-30%. The maps you run need a high dropchance for maps. 100% quantity is very low for today's standards as it's basically just alch and go. Map mod effect, atlas passive quantity and 8mod maps already push you close to 200%. Twist of Fate, risk scarabs and red/blue altars get close to 400% quantity including map drop duplication. One use-case is alternating between two different types of guardian invitations as that is enough to sustain both if your starting map pool is big enough in case of RNG or simply getting as many map drops for a high chance at T17s. |

wow 25% chance for T14+ maps
never thought about that high value it feels so much lower even if I am "only" testing it with >100% quantity and getting at least 1+ T14+ map(s) from each run do you think it works as intended? 25% is too high imho to get so far nothing from it (at least cant remember) I will continue testing it thank you for your feedback
Yes, it works as intended. I've played a couple hundred maps with it in settlers league to feed my mappers with elder guardians.
Do note that 25% does not literally mean every fourth map. It's still RNG and will just eventually average out to 25%. If you have a low amount of map drops (2-5 instead of 10+) in general, it might potentially take very long to average out. |

Well it does work as intended, still it's kinda frustrating, as the RNG-Scarabs always were, if you're not in mega-juicing mode - which is not always possible in (i say it and brace for impact) SSF. Luckily for this particular aspect, most of them are gone (old divination and reliquary ones come to mind)
I understand that it's difficult to balance those with the amount of juicing possible, still I'd love to see a kind of "guarantee" - My first impulse was, already back in the old scarab days, to guarantee a drop from the last monster in the map if the rng had not honored the Scarab - but what I'd actually prefer now would be that the last monster would drop the scarab again. just a little feelgood present to keep the spirits up...
thanks for your feedback it already helps a lot
played again this morning 4x T16 corrupted +100quant maps atlas tree map and quant optimated (no forced league mechanics) 2 voidstones (I guess it has no meaning just fyi) with the scarabs Cart of escalation 10% +maps Inf of conversion T+14 special maps chance Cart of corruption corrupted maps cart of multi monsters with +300% map chance which resulted in only 10 maps (4 per map in avergae) of different tiers(9-16) not a single special map (so another four conversion scarabs wasted with no effect) I avoided boss fights bec they have the chance for that maps also without the scarab (for testing if it works) I do not want guaranties because I need a lot of these maps to learn the bosses I never played before i'd like to have a better chance to find these maps of my own which I need for progress but still not sure it works as it should (or as I expect)
You need all 4 voidstones and make sure you are also taking the nodes on the atlas for maps to have a chance to drop a tier higher. Every map that drops below t14 is a waste. The scarab for corrupted maps is useless for your goals as well as it does not increase map drop chance. You should be using the escalation scarab and then whatever scarabs you can get the most extra monsters with. The 300% map scarab is ok of course but I found a lot of success without it.
I personally did the influenced monster pack size, elder scarab and the 40% magic pack size scarab for a pretty cheap combo of stuffing the maps full of monsters. Also had one layer of delirium on all the maps as well. I used this scarab a lot this league and have been swimming in influenced maps of all types. The scarab works you just have not been optimizing correctly. As it stands right now I have 91 conq/elder/shaper maps in my stash and about 61 of the distant memory synth maps and I stopped playing this league a bit ago now.
