'No price' vs 'Do not index'
Hi there.
I was wondering lately about something... Let's say I set my currency tab as public and want to get rid of some large stacks (sell them). Do I need to set 'Do not index' for currencies I don't want to sell? Or maybe I can just leave those currencies as default (with no price)? What's the difference? What happens if I leave items with no price and I don't set 'Do not index'? Will they be shown on trade sites (with what price if so?)? It is especially annoying with quad tabs full of small junk, when I have to index/price everything properly (I always assumed every item in the public tab has to be priced or set as not indexed). As long as you have the option on the public tab set to "Set each items price individually, then you only need to set a price on the things you want to sell. If you set the option to price every item in the tab the same, then you would need to select no price/do not index.
The difference is that even with no price set on an item, any item in a public tab is indexed by the trade forum. Meaning that if someone is looking for it with the 'any' search parameter, they can find it and whisper you. This doesnt happen often, but if you have a very low volume or highly prized item, you may get whispers for things you arent trying to sell unless you have specifically selected do not index for the item “Freedom is what we do with what is done to us.”

That's what I suspected (and hoped for). Thank you for clarifying. That will safe a lot of my time :)
